On December 23, 2018, the ADF rebels made another incursion into a neighborhood bordering the city of Beni. They arrived at 8:04 pm, killed 5 people, abducted 3 children aged 6 to 8 years. They beheaded a taxi driver and stole all the goats present. According to the testimony of Jezéquiel, a resident of the area, the FARDC (Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo) based 500 meters would have arrived around 23 pm.

In the aftermath of a new massacre in Beni attributed to the Ugandan rebels of the ADF, the monument erected at the center of a roundabout, in memory of Enoch Nyamwisi Muvingi, was discovered still erect, but amputated with both arms and beheaded. On November 2, 2018, after another carnage, an angry crowd had debunked the statue of "roundabout Kabila" and burned flags of the Presidential Majority, the coalition that supports the head of state. Through Enoch Nyamwisi, his brother was targeted: Antipas Mbusa Nyamwisi, a former Ugandan-backed rebel leader, had in fact rallied to Joseph Kabila at the end of the Second Congo War (1998-2003) .
