A former paratrooper in the Beninese People's Army, a former matron, and a former healer, Adama is the leader of an NGO that helps women suffering from obstetric fistula. At 66 years old, and for more than 10 years, she has been crisscrossing the Atakora's trails, going to markets and bush clinics to help her women find a destiny, a place in their community. A pillar of her community, Adama assumes many responsibilities; head of the family clan, mother, grandmother, adoptive aunt of the 12 children of her deceased brothers, president of women's economic groups.

At the first alert a fire brigade was engaged on the fire of the fireworks warehouse. The explosion didn't give them a chance. So far, 5 -bodies- have been found. Only the DNA of the shredded body parts allowed the identification of the fallen firemen. Today, the brigade pays tribute to Missal Hawa, 25 years old, firefighter for three years.

Carlem Hitti lost on the same day her husband, her brother and a cousin, all three firemen of the team sent to the port before the explosion. Widow at 28, she has to stand up for her daughter, her parents, her aunts and uncles, to face her own tragedy and to lead the fight to know the truth within the collective of the victims of the explosion.
